Build backend AI infrastructure remotely with Affirm, using Python or Kotlin, distributed systems, and production LLM technologies across Canada.As a Senior Software Engineer on Affirm’s AI Platform team, you will build the governed path for AI systems. You will design gateway, runtime, and evaluation services, while supporting secure scale across millions of users and transactions. The work includes identity, reliability, cost attribution, and security.Key Responsibilities:
Own AI Platform projects from design through launch and on-callBuild gateways, runtimes, and evaluation services for production workloadsImplement identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controlsPartner with security, infrastructure, and product engineering teamsMonitor systems through metrics, alerting, runbooks, and on-callRequirements:
Four or more years building backend systems at scaleExperience with Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and KubernetesProduction experience with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworksStrong technical planning, coding, testing, and communication skillsEquivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor’s degreeApply backend engineering, distributed systems, and AI platform expertise to production infrastructure at Affirm.
