The role

We are looking for an experienced Controller or Senior Bookkeeper to own the full accounting function at RENOVCO. This is a hands-on, senior finance role at a growing construction and restoration company — you will be the financial backbone of the operation, working directly with ownership and the operations team to ensure every project is tracked, every dollar is accounted for, and the books are clean, current, and audit-ready.

If you have a strong construction or renovation accounting background, know QuickBooks inside and out, and take pride in a well-run finance department — this role is for you.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable — verify, process, and pay supplier invoices
• Prepare, process, and track accounts receivable and client invoicing
• Prepare and submit monthly government tax remittances — DAS, GST, QST
• Record all cash receipts and maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Maintain an orderly and up-to-date accounting filing system in QuickBooks
• Monitor project-level budgets and ensure margins are being respected across active jobs
• Prepare month-end financial reports and support year-end audit process
• Work closely with project managers to track job costs against estimates
• Support the operations team with financial data as needed

Must-haves

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience

QuickBooks proficiency — Online and/or Desktop (non-negotiable)

Fully bilingual French and English — written and spoken

Experience with GST/QST filing and DAS remittances

Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

High attention to detail and professional demeanour

Strong assets

Experience in the construction, renovation, or insurance restoration industry

Experience with job costing and project-level budget tracking

Prior experience in a controller or accounting manager role

Compensation & benefits

$65,000–$85,000/year depending on experience

LE RÔLE

Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) contrôleur(e) ou tenancier(ère) de livres senior pour prendre en charge la fonction comptable complète de RENOVCO. Vous serez la colonne vertébrale financière de l'opération.

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES

· Traiter la paie avec précision et dans les délais

· Gérer les comptes payables en cycle complet

· Préparer, traiter et suivre les comptes recevables

· Préparer et soumettre les remises gouvernementales — DAS, TPS, TVQ

· Enregistrer les encaissements et maintenir le grand livre général

· Maintenir un système de classement comptable dans QuickBooks

· Suivre les budgets par projet et s'assurer que les marges sont respectées

· Préparer les rapports financiers de fin de mois

EXIGENCES

· Minimum 5 ans en tenue de livres ou comptabilité cycle complet

· Maîtrise de QuickBooks (non négociable)

· Bilinguisme complet français et anglais

· Expérience avec TPS/TVQ et DAS

· Bonne maîtrise d'Excel et Microsoft Office

ATOUTS IMPORTANTS

· Expérience en construction, rénovation ou restauration après sinistre

· Expérience en comptabilité par projet
