Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing automated systems to accelerate and facilitate various routine tasks. They will be asked to suggest and implement new technologies such as robots, vision systems, quality control and preventive maintenance tools in collaboration with the engineering and production teams. The devices to be designed are varied and complex and must integrate the health and safety of our employees as a priority. As part of this work, the automation engineer must constantly consider adapting devices to cohabitation with human workers. The candidate will have the chance to work both in the laboratory and on the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Design, commission, improve and maintain automated equipment.
- Choose and integrate systems involving computer, mechanical, electronic, robotics and computer vision technologies.
- Assess the impact of introducing automated systems on costs, maintenance, staff training, productivity and work organization.
- Analyze and validate existing processes while participating in the design, installation and deployment of new solutions.
- Develop satellite programmes and databases to link our ERP/MES system with production (Industry 4.0 mentality).
Required Experience and Skills
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in automation engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer science with at least two (2) years completed.
- Proven technical skills in SQL, Python and VBA.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders.
- Strong motivation and ability to think independently without supervision.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Strong interest in innovation and new technologies.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Knowledge of MES systems.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of AI.
- Experience in the aerospace environment.
- Experience in a high‑volume production environment.
- Knowledge of UR robots.
Comments / Special Considerations
Successful candidates must obtain and pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
