Job Category: Delivery Driver Job Type: Full Time permanent Job Location: Alberta Edmonton Wesbell is seeking a responsible Delivery Driver to deliver products/material promptly to job locations in a safe and timely manner. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include
- Delivering a wide variety of items
- Following delivery driving routes and time schedules
- Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- High School Diploma
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Hold a valid Class 5 or higher driver’s license
- Capable of driving 1-tonne trucks and flatbed trailers. Including hooking trailers up and navigating tricky rural roads and hills
- Clean police check required (no serious or recent charges)
- Good driving record with no recent driving violations
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Knowledge of acceptable cargo securement methods.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Ability to safely lift 50-70 pounds unassisted
- Familiarity with National Safety Code driving rules and regulations would be an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
