Job Summary The Program Specialist role is responsible for managing and facilitating variety of programs that build entrepreneurial skills and capacity for UBC Community members and provide resources and support for building new spinoff companies, including but not limited to Venture Founder, HATCH Venture Builder, and Lab2Market programming. This role is also responsible for monitoring, collecting, and reporting on program performance metrics. Organizational Status Reports to the Senior Manager of Programs Operations, and works with View email address on ca.edajobs.com Program Managers, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and other View email address on ca.edajobs.com staff to develop, deliver, and manage these programs. The position is based at Point Grey campus. Occasionally this role will participate in supporting and delivering View email address on ca.edajobs.com activities at UBC Robson Square. Evening and/or weekend work to support entrepreneurial events and activities may be required from time to time. Work Performed

• Facilitate View email address on ca.edajobs.com's programmatic engagement efforts, working with program managers, View email address on ca.edajobs.com staff and UBC entrepreneurship groups, to design, deliver and/or support engagement activities such as Lunch & Learns, innovator networking events and entrepreneurship workshops, and the like, such that the initiated activities and events are aligned with View email address on ca.edajobs.com's mandate to inspire entrepreneurship and develop entrepreneurial capabilities.
• Monitor program performance and venture feedback by managing and reporting on Program Surveys and program post-mortems. Develop improvements towards improving participant experience and the quality of the programming and platform.
• Venture Founder Program: Facilitate programs and manage logistics for actively supported View email address on ca.edajobs.com ventures in the Venture Founder Program.
• HATCH Venture Builder Program: Facilitate programs and manage logistics for actively supported View email address on ca.edajobs.com ventures in the HATCH Venture Builder Program, which includes EIR Sessions, community-building initiatives, programmatic events and the like.
• Mentor Program: Facilitate programs and manage logistics for mentor program that actively support the activities of View email address on ca.edajobs.com's programming.
• Jointly develop and manage with View email address on ca.edajobs.com program management staff and EIRs, additional programming that contributes to development of executive teams, advisory groups, and boards, venture team recruitment activity, and foundry team development.
• Contribute actively to View email address on ca.edajobs.com operational meetings.
• Perform other duties as required

Consequence of Error/Judgement Judgment and tact are required when communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders internal and external to UBC, such as students, faculty, staff and alumni; industry mentors; external partners such as BCIC and Genome BC; and other stakeholders of the BC start-up ecosystem. Supervision Received Works independently under the general direction of the Sr. Manager, Programs Operations. Works closely with and may from time to time take direction from Program Managers in cases where they have overall responsibility for a stream or project. Work is reviewed for achievement of objectives, soundness of judgment, and quality of work. Supervision Given None. Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications Business or other degree relevant to View email address on ca.edajobs.com's mission preferred. Extensive experience working and effectively engaging with various stakeholders (faculty, staff, administration, students) in a university environment. Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment, such as a startup company, or a venture incubator, and experience working in the unique environment of a university incubator or accelerator, plus familiarity with lean startup principles is an asset. Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle complex tasks. Ability to meet critical deadlines under considerable pressure. Ability to exercise initiative, tact and discretion. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and to work effectively with all levels of University personnel, external organizations, and government bodies. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, excellent computer skills.
