Superintendent Finance

Evolution Mining

The Superintendent Finance role supports the management accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for department managers. The role leads initiatives that continuously improve onsite reporting processes and implements effective cost control solutions to optimise mine cash flow.

Key Result Areas:

  • Oversight of month‑end close activities and provision of accurate and timely financial submissions.
  • Preparation of monthly internal reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Regular liaison with business units to understand performance and financial results.
  • Maintain and monitor cost control systems within operational and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Analyse material and consumables usage, presenting data monthly to drive tighter cost control.
  • Prepare Red Lake and North American cash flow forecasts, managing transactional banking platform.
  • Prepare and execute commodity sales and FX trading requirements.
  • Maintain systems/frameworks to deliver annual budget, forecasts, and LOM plans with timely analysis.
  • Provide financial support for planning, applying budgeting and forecasting techniques.
  • Ensure direct reports understand expectations, performance measures, and receive development support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, and a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Proven track record as a Commercial/Finance Superintendent or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of commercial experience in a heavy industry sector, ideally mining.
  • Strong numerical and analytical mindset.
  • Quality, continuous improvement and proactive planning capabilities.
  • Ability to present and communicate insightful information to varied audiences.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Adaptable, manages pressure effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with a good track record in people management.
  • Build credibility, lead change, and influence operational management.
  • Strong financial commentary writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional computer skills, especially MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Compensation: The compensation range for this role is $160,000 to $195,000 CAD, with a competitive salary, bonus structure, and future growth opportunities.
