Applied AI Engineer

This is a hands‑on, embedded engineering role that requires working directly with founders and stakeholders to quickly ship AI solutions to our internal and customer-facing products. You will act as part engineer, part solutions architect, and part builder‑who‑talks‑to‑humans, prioritizing functional delivery over perfection.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to flagship initiatives: agentic orchestration, conversational AI with customer profiles, and signal‑based personalized marketing.


• Build and extend internal AI agents that plan, build, and review work using Claude Code, ensuring quality gates remain sharp.


• Develop AI chat and voice experiences that personalize conversations based on customer data and behavioral signals.


• Transform customer signals into sector‑specific marketing segments, scoring, and messaging integrated with existing marketing stacks.


• Collaborate closely with founders, stakeholders, and non‑technical teams to diagnose real needs and iterate quickly.


• Write clean, testable Python code, manage backend logic, data pipelines, and functional front‑end components.


• Ensure compliance with data privacy and safe‑use principles for sensitive emotional conversations.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on, embedded instincts for turning stakeholder needs into working software without a detailed spec.


• Strong communication skills for explaining technical work to non‑engineers.


• Solid Python fundamentals and full‑stack experience, comfortable with backend logic, data, and functional front‑end.


• Real, hands‑on LLM experience: prompting, retrieval (RAG), chaining, evaluating outputs, and managing non‑deterministic systems.


• Experience building or operating multi‑agent systems, with knowledge of orchestration, tool/function calling, and review loops.


• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools like Claude Code and an ability to leverage them daily.


• Engineering discipline: TDD, clean Git workflows, and building quality gates.


• Comfort with shell, TypeScript/Node, and related tooling when required.


• Bias toward shipping functional software rather than perfect software.


• Sound judgment regarding sensitive, emotional conversations and the need for guardrails, escalation paths, and clear boundaries.


• Knowledge of privacy and data protection standards such as CCPA.

Nice to Have

• Prior solutions‑engineering, founder, or consulting experience.


• Conversational or voice AI experience (TTS/STT, low‑latency streaming, voice‑agent frameworks).


• Experience in DTC e‑commerce, subscriptions, or performance marketing.


• Familiarity with attribution/CRM platforms and marketing APIs.


• Experience with recommendation, personalization, or feature‑store systems.


• Knowledge of agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.


• Portfolio of shipped products, repositories, demos, or AI projects that can be reviewed.

Stack

• AI/LLM: Claude (API + Claude Code), multi‑agent orchestration, prompt and skill authoring, ElevenLabs for voice.


• Primary language: Python.


• Backend/data: Postgres / Supabase (incl. pgvector), REST APIs.


• Frontend: Next.js, React, Vercel, HTML/CSS.


• Marketing infrastructure: Klaviyo, Checkout Champ, Hyros, and related attribution and CRM tools.


• Tooling: Git/GitHub, CI, AI‑assisted development workflows, shell, and TypeScript/Node as needed.
