Looking for a Nanny / Caregiver for Our 5-Year-Old Son With Type 1 Diabetes

We are looking for a reliable, caring, responsible, and attentive person to support our 5-year-old son, who lives with Type 1 diabetes approximately 20–25 hours per week. We are hoping to find someone who would be interested in becoming part of our family for the next 2 to 4 years, providing him with stability and consistent support over the long term. During the school year, the person we are looking for would be with our son at school, supporting him and helping manage his Type 1 diabetes. During the summer, the position would be primarily at our home, caring for our son and accompanying him in his daily activities. An important part of the role will be learning how to manage his Type 1 diabetes. We are very willing to provide training and ongoing support to the right person. The person will gradually learn how to: Perform finger-stick blood glucose checks; Monitor and understand his blood glucose readings; Count carbohydrates in meals and snacks; Administer insulin using a mobile app; Apply and replace continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensors; Apply and manage an insulin pump; Recognize the signs of low and high blood sugar and know how to respond; Follow the care instructions and protocols we have established to keep our son safe. We are looking above all for someone who is calm, dependable, caring, resourceful, and comfortable taking on responsibility. Previous experience with Type 1 diabetes or a healthcare background would be an asset, but it is not required. We are happy to train someone who is motivated and willing to learn. What matters most to us is finding someone we can trust who genuinely wants to build a long-term relationship with our family. Our family speaks French, so being comfortable communicating in French would be important, especially when communicating with us and with our son. We also have a 1-year-old son. There may therefore be times, particularly during the summer, when the caregiver is around both children, although the primary responsibility will be caring for and supporting our 5-year-old.
