Junior High Math, Science and Fitness Teacher

Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary part-time (0.77 FTE) Junior High Teacher at Clover Bar Junior High. Assignment includes: Math 8, Science 7, Fitness 8 and PLACE Numeracy or Literacy coverage depending on the successful candidate's skill set.

Clover Bar Junior

High serves approximately 485 students in grades 7 to 9, with 23 teaching staff

and 11 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Clover Bar Junior High staff work hard to help

their learning as well as involved in a variety of extracurricular activities

such as art, band, drama, construction, foods, team sports and social activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education degree
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Effective organization and classroom management skills
• Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
• Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
