- Plan, organize and control various activities relating to loading and unloading of freight.
- Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers’ freight is delivered on time and damage free.
- Communicate with dispatch and with dock workers to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings/briefings to communicate values, strategies and company objectives.
- Prioritize transfer freight and next-day delivery.
- Ensure the timely and efficient movement of freight on a daily basis.
- Supervise, coach, train and develop Dock Foremen and dockworkers.
- Prepare and issue shift reports to all relevant personnel.
- Deal with employee-related issues such as reviews and discipline.
- Enforce Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Do any other responsibilities required for the position.

Exigences du poste
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the transportation industry in an operation’s role.
- Operational Certifications (Forklift , TDG and WHMIS).
- Must possess thorough knowledge of L.T.L. industry.
- Knowledge of OS&D.
- Computer literate and comfortable with Word or Excel.
- Knowledge of AS400 an asset
- Knowledge of dispatch operations an asset.
