Accounting technician

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to the full accounting cycle
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist with invoicing and sales tracking
• Contribute to inventory management and control
• Prepare various financial analyses and reports
• Collaborate with management to improve accounting procedures
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting
• 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent proficiency with computer tools (Excel) and accounting software
• Diligence, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of taxes (GST/QST)

Strengths and Additional Experience

• Experience with Odoo (a major plus)
• Experience in a multi-departmental environment
• Knowledge of human resources
• Experience working with foreign workers
• Knowledge of the agri-food industry
