Help streamline underwriting processes while fostering client relationships and supporting sales teams. Empire Life is seeking a Life Underwriting Consultant with a minimum of three years of individual underwriting experience. This role involves analyzing financial and medical data to make sound risk decisions, mentoring junior underwriters, and interacting with reinsurance providers. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate underwriting processes that align with company standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess risk accurately for individual life insurance applications
- Provide support to Sales & Marketing teams
- Analyze financial and medical data effectively
- Mentor and coach junior and intermediate underwriters
- Collaborate with reinsurance providers on retention limits
- Minimum 3 years in individual underwriting
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
- University degree in life sciences, nursing, or kinesiology
- FLMI designation preferred or in progress
