About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Co-op Student (Fall term) to join our team at our Brantford, ON bakery . As an Engineering Co-op, you will support the Project Engineer in driving product development, manufacturing improvements, and facility upgrade initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and production capabilities.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Morning (Monday- Friday)
- Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
- Weekend Availability: Required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $27
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)
- Support engineering and manufacturing improvement projects to enhance production efficiency
- Develop and update plant layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Collaborate on equipment installations and new product start-ups within the facility
- Contribute to process optimization and line efficiency improvement initiatives
- Assist in project design, layout planning, and implementation activities
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety standards, and health & safety policies
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOP adherence, and support continuous improvement efforts
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment
- Exposure to process improvement or lean manufacturing concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
