At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Buyer in Saint-Bruno we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and supplier management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects by managing supplier relationships, driving procurement strategies, and securing on-time delivery and quality. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, quality, and supply chain teams), lead project negotiations, and oversee supplier performance metrics – and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of preparing and launching requests for quotations with suppliers, but also monitoring procurement project quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) performance throughout the project lifecycle.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Driving the full supplier selection process, including preparing and launching requests for quotations and leading project negotiations

  • Monitoring procurement project QCDT and legal project evolution (e.g., first article inspection, business award, product development)

  • Ensuring work package sheet commitments are respected

  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct

  • Coordinating projects with all métiers and ensuring on-time delivery and quality, especially during the ramp-up phase

  • Supporting commodity strategy by consolidating commodity needs and inputs, actively participating in strategy development, and representing commodities in projects and platforms

  • Building and managing supplier relationships, including performance measurement and development in coordination with the supplier quality team

  • Assessing risky suppliers and managing mitigation plans

  • Monitoring corporate social responsibility engagements and ensuring compliance with Alstom’s code of ethics

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering

  • 8-10 years of experience in sourcing or procurement

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive results

  • Rigorous and structured approach to work

  • An international mindset

  • Fluency in both French and English

  • Proficiency in additional languages is an asset, as it facilitates communication with partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards exciting career opportunities in procurement and beyond

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
