What you’ll be doing

As Senior Director, AI Enablement Development Manager within the AI Platforms & Solutions team, you will be the operational backbone for CIBC’s Artificial Intelligence (CAI) platform and its ecosystem of sub-products. You will lead multiple development and QA teams to deliver, evolve, and optimize the CAI platform, including products such as Smart Library, Teams Notetaker, Agent Framework, Notebook/RAG engine, eCRM/Salesforce integrations, Outlook plugin, and Admin Console. You’ll manage the full software development lifecycle, drive engineering standards, and ensure the platform meets enterprise needs for reliability, scalability, and performance. Your role will involve hands‑on leadership, managing internal and vendor teams, balancing competing priorities, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement, overseeing release and quality governance, vendor relationships, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

How you’ll succeed

  • Own the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle for the CAI platform and its sub‑products, maintaining alignment with enterprise priorities and the VP’s strategic vision.
  • Directly manage and mentor multiple squads of developers, QA engineers, and technical leads, fostering a high‑performance, accountable engineering culture.
  • Serve as the primary intake and triage point for development requests, making real‑time prioritization decisions and managing scope changes with transparency.
  • Oversee release management processes, ensure comprehensive QA coverage, and drive incident response and defect resolution in coordination with DevOps and InfoSec teams.
  • Manage delivery relationships with external vendors, ensuring adherence to commitments, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Partner with product leadership and other teams to translate business use cases into technical requirements, provide regular status reporting, and support enablement activities.

Who you are

  • 10+ years of software development management experience, including 5+ years leading multiple concurrent product/platform teams.
  • Deep technical expertise in AI/ML platform development, LLM integrations, or enterprise SaaS product delivery; experience managing dev and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Knowledge of regulated environments; financial services experience preferred, with familiarity of technology risk, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage blended internal and vendor teams, hold partners accountable to delivery commitments, and drive performance across diverse groups.
  • Strategic communicator who translates complex technical concepts into clear stakeholder updates and makes tough prioritization decisions with transparency and confidence.
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Alignment with CIBC values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.
