Position Description
We are seeking a Director, Consulting Expert (DCE) – Enterprise Data Warehouse & Data Platforms to provide senior technical, solutioning, and client facing leadership
The DCE will serve as a trusted advisor to the client while helping shape, win, govern, and successfully deliver complex enterprise data initiatives.
This is not a narrow technical specialist or delivery only position. The DCE combines deep enterprise data warehouse and modern data platform expertise with consulting acumen, architecture leadership, commercial awareness, and executive presence. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable discussing business outcomes with senior client stakeholders, shaping and estimating solutions, leading architecture decisions, and engaging in detailed technical discussions with engineering teams.

Your future duties and responsibilities
.    Serve as a senior client facing advisor for enterprise data warehouse, data engineering, analytics, and data platform modernization initiatives within a complex telecommunications environment.
.    Translate business objectives and requirements into actionable data strategies, architectures, roadmaps, and solution options.
.    Lead end to end solution architecture, considering data, applications, integration, cloud, cybersecurity, operations, cost, scalability, and delivery trade offs.
.    Architect and guide enterprise data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Dataplex, Dataform, and Looker.
.    Provide technical leadership across enterprise data warehousing, data modelling, ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines, data quality, metadata, governance, security, and analytics.
.    Lead or co lead technical solutioning for strategic pursuits, proposals, RFPs, and account growth opportunities.
.    Develop and challenge solution scope, architecture, assumptions, estimates, resource models, dependencies, risks, and delivery approaches to ensure solutions are competitive and executable.
.    Orchestrate SMEs across data, cloud, applications, integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations to develop cohesive end to end solutions.
.    Lead or participate in architecture, estimation, proposal, and delivery governance reviews, identifying technical and delivery risks before commitments are made.
.    Advise on AI/ML and generative AI data readiness, including data quality, accessibility, governance, privacy, security, and responsible adoption.
.    Maintain sufficient hands on technical depth to challenge designs, validate assumptions, troubleshoot critical issues, and defend architectural decisions.
.    Mentor architects and technical leads and promote reusable architectures, patterns, accelerators, and solution assets across the team.
.    Partner with the DCS and broader P&L leadership to strengthen the client relationship, identify growth opportunities, improve solution quality, and develop technical leadership capability within the team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
.    10+ years of progressively responsible experience in leading enterprise data warehousing, data engineering, analytics, cloud architecture, solution architecture, or related IT consulting disciplines.
.    Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering complex enterprise data warehouse and modern cloud data platform solutions.
.    Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data and analytics ecosystem, particularly Big Query and associated ingestion, processing, orchestration, governance, and analytics capabilities.
.    Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data modelling, ETL/ELT, data integration, data quality, metadata, security, governance, and analytics.
.    Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of modern data engineering technologies and practices such as Python, Git, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, APIs, and automated testing/deployment.
.    Experience with enterprise data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Informatica, DataStage, dbt, or comparable platforms.
.    Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture for significant client engagements, proposals, RFPs, or complex technology pursuits.
.    Experience developing or validating solution estimates, delivery models, assumptions, dependencies, and technical risks.
.    Strong consulting and executive communication skills, including discovery, problem framing, facilitation, solution development, and client presentations.
.    Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams, influence senior stakeholders, and mentor architects and technical leaders.
.    Working knowledge of AI/ML and generative AI concepts and their implications for enterprise data architecture and governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

.    Experience delivering data and analytics solutions within the telecommunications industry, with an understanding of large scale, high volume telco data environments and associated business and operational use cases.
.    Google Cloud certification, particularly Professional Cloud Architect and/or Professional Data Engineer, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
.    Experience modernizing large legacy or on premises enterprise data warehouse environments to GCP.
.    Experience within a large IT consulting, systems integration, managed services, or professional services organization.
.    Experience supporting large, complex and highly integrated enterprise technology environments.
.    Commercial awareness encompassing consulting economics, solution costing, delivery risk, and value based solutioning.

.    Leads with client and business outcomes rather than technology alone.
.    Has the executive presence to independently lead senior client conversations.
.    Takes ownership of ambiguous or difficult solution problems and drives them to resolution.
.    Retains enough hands on technical depth to challenge and defend important architecture decisions.
.    Challenges unrealistic estimates, unsupported assumptions, scope gaps, and delivery risks before commitments are made.
.    Works across organizational and technology boundaries rather than operating as a narrow or isolated SME.
.    Coaches and develops architects and technical leaders, raising the capability of the broader team.

Measures of Success
Success will be reflected in stronger client relationships, higher quality solutions and estimates, improved pursuit outcomes, reduced delivery risk, successful enterprise data initiatives, and increased technical capability across the team.

The DCE will be recognized by the client, delivery teams, DCS, and broader P&L leadership as a trusted senior advisor who connects telecommunications business outcomes, enterprise data architecture, technology, commercial realities, and delivery feasibility.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,000–$165,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
