Job Responsibility:
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lumber Associate to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment, assisting customers and contractors with their lumber and building material needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and a commitment to delivering a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating lumber and building materials.
- Provide expert advice on product selection based on customer needs.
- Process transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Answer customer inquiries via phone, e-mail or in-person with professionalism and clarity.
- Utilize basic math skills to assist customers with measurements and calculations.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry trends to provide knowledgeable assistance.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Previous experience in retail sales and building supply experience is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
- Familiarity with lumber products and building materials is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
