About the Role

The Biblical Counselor will work with the SCCM to provide biblical care and support to female students enrolled at Heritage. This is a 10 hours a week temporary contract role from August 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care, guidance, and prayer support to students from a biblical perspective, addressing spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being needs.
• Collaborate with the SCCM and other professionals to assess student needs and refer students to appropriate health care providers, counsellors, and church leaders when necessary.
• Support students facing personal challenges, health concerns, and major life decisions through spiritual encouragement and counselling.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local churches, counsellors, and community supports to ensure students receive comprehensive care.
• Maintain professional development in spiritual care and equip Student Services staff and student leaders to effectively support student care needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a biblical counselling role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Christian higher education is an asset.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Organizational and time management skills.
