Forestry Field Lead

Job Responsibility:

Finlay Forest Management offers Forestry and other consulting services based out of Mackenzie, British Columbia. Our clients include Government, Industry, and Indigenous clients in forestry and other natural resource sectors. Position Summary:

We are looking to fill a full-time field supervisor position that is field based and hands-on with some office work. The successful candidate will assist our current team of professionals with carrying out a broad array of forestry services.

Note: the FFM Forestry work projects are located throughout northern BC and may require camp shifts. Duties may include (but are not limited to) :

• Field crew supervision
• Road and block layout
• Riparian classification
• Stream classification
• Timber reconnaissance
• Timber cruising
• Ecological Data collection

Qualifications

• Valid class 5 driver's license required
• 3 years plus of previous experience in related work
• Supervisorial skills
• Post-Secondary education in the natural sciences and/or technical forestry is preferred
• Registration with the ABCFP is an asset
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to travel and work in an outdoor environment in remote locations
• Able to work cooperatively in a team, but also independently with little supervision
• Physically fit to endure the rigors of full-time fieldwork in all conditions
• Safe work mindset is required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 47.5 - 52.5 per week
