Senior Java Engineering Leader at Citi

Be a Senior Java Engineering Leader at Citi and play a critical role in developing scalable engineering frameworks that drive payments innovations. Your expertise in microservice architecture will guide the scrum team’s strategies and outcomes.
In this hands-on position, you will engage deeply with Java coding, influencing the architecture and quality of the cheque payment platform. You'll be responsible for setting high engineering standards and mentoring engineers while ensuring the platform meets all business and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead hands-on development and architectural design efforts
• Maintain high technical standards through code reviews
• Advocate for performance optimization practices
• Define the engineering roadmap for modernization
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align engineering needs
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Java engineering
• Strong skills in API development and microservices
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and messaging systems
• Expertise in cloud engineering and DevOps
• Familiarity with Agile project management
