Engineering Manager for Rapid Transit Projects

Drive the success of rapid transit initiatives as the Engineering Manager for the Light Rail Transit in Waterloo Region. This full-time role supports a blend of on-site and remote work arrangements.
The Region of Waterloo is looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee significant transit projects. Candidates should have extensive experience in civil engineering, coupled with skills in project management and team leadership. You will be responsible for technical direction, governance frameworks, and lifecycle deliverables throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead procurement processes for engineering consultancy
• Ensure effective project delivery management
• Develop and update business cases in alignment with goals
• Manage risks while enhancing operational and procedural standards
• Represent the Region in regulatory proceedings as needed
Requirements:
• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering plus professional license
• Proven track record in large public projects
• Strong experience in light rail design and construction
• Adept at analytical and problem-solving processes
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
Enhance transportation systems as a key player in Waterloo’s rapid transit development.
