Title: Assistant Vice President, Azure Support Specialist

Location: Montreal (Day1 Onsite/Hybrid)

Job Type: Full‑Time

Mode of Work: 3 days per week onsite required; Hybrid otherwise.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure Support Specialist to ensure the stability and resilience of critical settlements systems. The role involves supporting production environments, resolving complex issues, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure stability and resilience of critical settlements flow across on‑premises and cloud platforms
• Provide production support and assist end users while contributing to ongoing system improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and business issues
• Act as a bridge between support and development teams for faster issue resolution
• Manage and communicate during critical incidents with stakeholders
• Improve system performance, scalability, observability, and reliability
• Implement monitoring, observability, and telemetry solutions for applications and APIs
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs and analyze system metrics
• Automate processes to improve system uptime and reduce operational risks

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of IT experience, including:
  • Minimum 2 years in Level3 Production Support
  • Strong experience supporting applications on Microsoft Azure
  • Expertise in troubleshooting distributed systems across application, infrastructure, and database layers
  • Experience working with Java and Python‑based applications
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering
  • Excellent communication and cross‑team collaboration skills

Technical Skills

• Cloud &DevOps: Azure Kubernetes, Azure App Services, Azure SQL
• Tools: Terraform, GitHub
• Messaging Systems: Kafka, Azure Service Bus
• Monitoring &Observability Tools:
  • Azure Monitor
  • Datadog
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
• Experience with logging, metrics, and event instrumentation
• Understanding of observability design principles

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services or trading/settlements systems
• Knowledge of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices
• Experience in automation and performance optimization
