Role Summary

White Point Beach Resort has been welcoming families, friends, couples and year-round groups for over 90 years. White Point is a high demand, prime location for many different types of events on the South Shore. The Gift Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the shop including sales, staff and inventory depending on resort occupancy. Hours of operation vary throughout the year; work schedule may vary Monday - Sunday. The successful applicant will be organized, detail oriented with a high level of focus on providing superior guest service

Responsibilities

· Organize all shop operations including merchandise display, pricing and sales margins

· Allocate responsibilities to assigned personnel

· Supervise staff and ensure product knowledge

· Monitor stock levels and purchase inventory as required

· Ensure the highest level of customer service is maintained.

· Plan and oversee in-shop promotions and displays.

· Sound knowledge of the local art community.

? Understand local artists and work with them to achieve their cooperation and trust. This is particularly important regarding consignment artwork.

? Communicate verbally and in writing with resort team regarding merchandise and store promotions.

? Prepare an online store for gift purchasing

? Make presence known to customers when visiting the store

? Stay available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements

? Interact with customers to obtain feedback on product quality and future inventory

? Respond to and handle customer concerns and complaints

? Empower employees to provide excellent customer service

? Develop and maintain store operational policies and work procedures

? Create store business plan on annual basis

? Ensure that applicable policies and procedures, regulatory ordinances, governing laws and generally accepted protocol and practices are followed

? Work as part of a team to build strong relationships with local community and local businesses

? Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program

? Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required

? Other duties as assigned

· Precious retail customer service experience K

· knowledge of local art community

Working Conditions

? Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Weekends as needed

• Commission pay

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Retail Management: 1 year (preferred)
