Cybersecurity Expert

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Cybersecurity Expert is looking for a senior Cybersecurity / Security Monitoring specialist to assess and optimize their existing CrowdStrike Falcon environment.
This is NOT a penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or scanning role. The focus is on CrowdStrike configuration, tuning, detection/monitoring, and SIEM integration.
Responsibilities
- Review and tune the existing CrowdStrike Falcon configuration
- Determine whether monitoring, alerting, log ingestion and retention are optimized
- Identify underutilized CrowdStrike capabilities
- Assess how CrowdStrike works with the organization's other monitoring controls
- Identify opportunities to bring additional log sources into the SIEM
- Produce a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment report with prioritized findings and actionable remediation guidance.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on CrowdStrike Falcon experience — configuring, tuning and optimizing the platform.
- Experience with CrowdStrike Next-Gen SIEM, EDR/Insight, threat intelligence and continuous monitoring.
- Experience optimizing detection, alerting, dashboards, log ingestion and data retention.
- Strong SIEM/security monitoring experience, including integrating additional log sources.
- Ability to conduct a cybersecurity posture assessment, identify gaps and produce practical remediation recommendations.
Nice to have
- CrowdStrike or other recognized cybersecurity certifications
- Experience bringing file-share and audit logs into a SIEM
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework experience
