Project Engineer - Artificial Lift

  Job Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position would be responsible to lead engineering activities supporting manufacturing, testing and vendor management needs of Surface Pumping Units within Weatherford.

· Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement 

OPERATIONS

· Perform engineering activities related to manufacturing support, prototype and production testing, vendor management, and quality management.

· Coordinate with vendors to develop manufacturing plan and layouts.

· Utilize Design for Manufacturability techniques to reduce cost and improve reliability of components.

· Update CAD models and drawings as needed improve design.

· Interact with engineering teams in other locations as part of a Project Team.

· Interact with Product Line, Manufacturing and Sales teams to provide engineering support as needed.

· Lead or be part of Root Cause Analysis investigation for various operational and manufacturing issues.

· Interact with clients and vendors independently as needed to provide product support.

· Review Nonconformance Reports and field incidents and provide disposition.

· Understand Weatherford Quality Policies and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

· Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

· Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. 

Experience & Education

REQUIRED

· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Structural Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university.

· 4-6 years of Mechanical, Structural, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering experience.

· Experience in a fabrication environment. Knowledge of various welding and machining methods.

· Proficient in PTC Creo (Pro/Engineer) or similar 3D CAD programs.

· Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed to support operations and manufacturing 

PREFERRED

· Experience with Oilfield operations and in particular Artificial Lift Systems.

· Experience working in field operations providing failure analysis, technical support or field trials.

· Proficiency in welded component design.

· Proficiency in structural design and analysis.

· Proficiency in using PTC Windchill/PDM system.

· Familiarity with API / EN machinery directives/ Canadian electric code.
