Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Nurse Position

Join Fraser Health as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse in child and adolescent psychiatry. This role involves providing person-centered psychiatric care and clinical leadership in recovery-oriented settings. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in psychiatric nursing through assessments and crisis interventions. You will collaborate with an interprofessional healthcare team, advocating for patient rights and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Successful candidates will be expected to educate both patients and families, guiding them to holistic health outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
- Actively participate in the therapeutic program of the Unit
- Collect and document information for nursing interventions
- Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members
- Mentor and educate nursing staff and students
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- One year of experience in an acute psychiatric setting
- Current registration with BCCNM
- Experience with children or adolescents in a psychiatric context
- Knowledge of mental illness and crisis intervention
