Nanny Wanted - Spanish Speaking Part Time Nanny For Mornings $20/Hour

Seeking a warm, kind, and experienced nanny who is a native Spanish speaker and who can also read comfortably in Spanish. The role is part-time, mornings only, 2 to 3 hours a day from around 9am to 11:30am. You'll be caring for one toddler, 2 years old, who is cute as a button. Pay rate is $20 per hour. Occasional babysitting work in the evenings may also sometimes be available if desired (not required for role). We are located in the Wortley Village area of London. Responsibilities include:

• Helping with our morning routine, including making toddler's breakfast, encouraging him to eat, helping with potty training and diaper changes, walking him to daycare, and tidying the morning breakfast dishes (dishwasher available)
• Basic housekeeping, including washing and putting away dishes, sweeping floors, folding and putting away toddler laundry, wiping up counters, taking out recycling and garbage, and tidying up toys (toddler helps with this).
• Reading a morning book to toddler in Spanish, when time allows
• Singing Spanish songs with toddler
• Occasionally we have our small dog with us, who is friendly and well-trained. Very helpful to be comfortable with occasionally walking dog in the mornings if needed.

Mom works from home and will be present, but working, while Nanny is here. Toddler has been spoken to in Spanish by current Nanny since he was 7 months old and has good comprehension, but he rarely speaks in Spanish. He speaks full sentences in English, but only uses occasional Spanish words. New Nanny needs to be comfortable encouraging him to speak Spanish, strictly speaking only Spanish to him, and asking him to repeat phrases back to Nanny in Spanish. Mom doesn't speak Spanish but is learning some words and phrases. Speaking some English with Mom is helpful, but Google translate can be used when needed. Requirements:

• CPR/first aid certified (ok if expired but you must have completed the course at some point and be able to explain choking first aid practices during interview)
• Police check / vulnerable sector check
• 2 references, ideally from Canadian families you have worked for, but a family friend can check references in a Spanish speaking country if needed. Former employers ok even if not child-care related.

Family has a preference for experienced nannies only because toddler tends to warm up quicker to people with experience. Interview process may include a paid babysitting session to see how you get along with toddler.
