• We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Midrange Server Support Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Support team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of midrange server environments, primarily Linux and IBM AIX.
• The role requires strong hands-on experience in Unix/Linux server administration, with additional exposure to enterprise storage solutions, Azure Linux environments, and backup technologies being highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux and IBM AIX server environments.
• Perform server provisioning, operating system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance activities.
• Monitor server performance, availability, resource utilization, and system health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operating system, hardware, connectivity, and application-related infrastructure issues.
• Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, file systems, and system services.
• Perform system capacity management, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
• Support server backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Collaborate with storage, network, database, security, and application teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and changes in accordance with defined SLAs.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and server configuration records.
• Ensure infrastructure stability, security, availability, and compliance with organizational standards.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience in Midrange Server Configuration and Administration.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and/or IBM AIX operating systems.
• Experience in Unix/Linux server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of file systems, disk management, process management, and system monitoring.
• Experience with server patching, upgrades, performance monitoring, and capacity management.
• Understanding of server connectivity, networking, and infrastructure support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills & Experience

1. SAN/NAS Storage Administration

• Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as IBM SVC and NetApp.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage architecture and administration.
• Understanding of LUN provisioning, storage allocation, and mapping.
• Experience in storage monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management.

2. Azure Linux & Storage

• Experience managing Linux hosts in Microsoft Azure environments.
• Knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines and Linux-based cloud infrastructure.
• Exposure to Azure storage services and storage integration.
• Understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure and cloud-based storage management.

3. Backup & Recovery

• Hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup administration and operations.
• Knowledge of backup scheduling, monitoring, restoration, and recovery procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting backup failures and managing backup policies.
• Understanding of disaster recovery and data protection processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant Linux, IBM AIX, Azure, storage, or backup technology certifications are an added advantage.
• Experience working in enterprise IT infrastructure or data center environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.

Key Competencies:

• Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to manage infrastructure incidents and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
