Role Description Commerce Decisions Ltd is seeking a Senior Procurement Consultant with a technical background in software‑led consultancy, preferably within complex procurement environments. The role involves defining and supporting new and existing business, reporting to the VP of Professional Services, and working closely with the wider professional services and sales teams. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the next stage of growth for Commerce Decisions.

Role Responsibilities

Support delivery, both remotely and on customer sites, across the breadth of Professional Services products (including criteria development, weighting, value for money, evaluation design, and evaluation support), ensuring outputs are defensible, auditable and aligned to client objectives.

Manage engagements with clients, working as Lead Consultant to ensure effective and timely support, value for money and risk management.

Work closely with the Sales Team to position, develop and win new business—organically within existing projects, identify new leads, and develop propositions for new clients and markets.

Play an active role in the process of quality management and peer review, operating within our policies and guidance.

Undertake AWARD® configuration and peer reviews to support the software delivery, and support clients in their use of AWARD®.

Help promote the products and services in the wider market through webinars, event attendance, social media, public speaking and white papers.

Support the VP of Professional Services in identifying and implementing improvements to the delivery of Professional Services products, including through the use of AI.

Additional Detail on Role Requirements

Develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the AWARD® software.

Collaborate with consulting and product support teams to deploy and use AWARD® effectively for new clients.

Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, Canadian procurement law, and best practices around sourcing, supplier selection, and evaluation planning.

Ensure a coherent, proactive and professional service to clients in collaboration with consulting, product support and sales teams.

Successful Candidate Essential

Ability to obtain Canadian security clearance (Reliability Status or Secret).

Experience delivering software‑led consultancy in the public sector.

Experience managing client relationships.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to manage and control small/medium‑sized projects.

Willingness to travel within Canada and occasionally internationally.

Ability to work calmly under pressure.

Self‑motivated, organized work style.

Experience with standard MS Office applications.

University education (undergraduate degree).

Desirable

Experience in public procurement competition design and evaluation.

Understanding of Government of Canada procurement frameworks (PSPC/Treasury Board), DND procurement processes and provincial/municipal procurement practices.

Strong desire to learn about new software applications.

Ability to manage inter‑related project requirements.
