Manager, Process Engineering Team

The Functional Engineering Manager is a key leadership role at Creation Technologies, focused on overseeing and enhancing the engineering processes in Process Engineering. This leadership-level position is crucial for driving the execution of complex engineering tasks, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring the creation, configuration, and optimization of processes required to produce and/or test Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and box assemblies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the process engineering team at the site.
- Oversee process engineering tasks and activities with support from the process engineering team.
- Maintain strong knowledge of PCBA and box build processes, including SMT equipment, tooling, materials, and processes; auto‑insertion, solder flow processes, cleaning processes, automated labeling, marking, conformal coating, potting, and manual/auto assembly; and box build manufacturing techniques.
- Lead the design, implementation, qualification, and validation of new process technologies and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues.
- Oversee the optimization and standardization of engineering processes, developing and refining procedures to ensure consistency and high‑quality outcomes across production lines.
- Lead the integration and stabilization of new process technologies, evaluating and adopting new technologies to enhance production capabilities.
- Drive cross‑departmental collaboration to align process engineering activities with broader company goals, working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure process enhancements support overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience – Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with a focus on electronics and manufacturing processes or equivalent industry or military training experience; minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in electronics manufacturing, including 3+ years in engineering management/leadership roles; aerospace, defense and/or medical manufacturing experience required for A&D/Medical MFG sites.
- Leadership and Management – Exceptional leadership and people‑management skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Technical Expertise – Advanced SME expertise in at least one of Test Engineering, Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, along with strong understanding of the remaining disciplines; strong knowledge of EMS manufacturing processes, business models, and the technical landscape.
- Project and Performance Management – Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects with strong problem‑solving capability; fiscal responsibility with experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Collaboration and Communication – Excellent collaboration and interaction skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners; exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Compliance and Standards – Strong understanding of relevant compliance standards and requirements (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ITAR, CGP, IPC, J‑STD workmanship standards).
Benefits
- Anticipated starting pay up to CDN $128,250 per year, in compliance with pay transparency requirements; full‑time employees eligible for performance‑based bonuses and benefits.
