What youll be doing
Youll be joining CIBCs Core Banking and Payments Technology. As a Consultant Back End Developer- Scala youll lead the technical design development and integration of cross-functional multi-platform application systems.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work youll be on-site full-time. Youll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where youll spend 1-3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote.
How youll succeed
- Design and Development- Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the applications technical infrastructure using specific databases programming languages utilities and testing the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
- Strategic Planning- Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the banks vision strategy and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems new technology and the enhancement of existing applications.
- Leadership Skills- Act as the development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge collaborating and problem solving.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate 5-7 years experience: In hands-on development on Cloud (Azure) ETL (DataBricks ADF ADLS etc.) Python/Scala Databases (Oracle SQL Server Azure SQL MI) and Tools (GitHub Azure DevOps Autosys). Have experienced migrating infrastructure to latest currency (Infrastructure upgrades) including migration to Azure Cloud.
