Associate Lawyer

We are seeking Family Law Associates and Criminal Law Associates to join a growing and entrepreneurial law firm in Dawson Creek, BC. Responsibilities

Family Law Associate

• Manage family law files from intake through resolution
• Advise clients on separation, divorce, parenting, child support, spousal support, and property division matters
• Draft pleadings, agreements, court materials, and correspondence
• Attend mediations, negotiations, case conferences, and court appearances
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to clients

Criminal Law Associate

• Manage criminal defence files from intake through resolution
• Represent clients in bail hearings, sentencings, trials, and other criminal proceedings
• Conduct legal research and prepare court materials
• Develop defence strategies and negotiate with Crown counsel
• Appear regularly before Provincial Court and other courts as required

Qualifications

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia or eligible for transfer
• Experience or strong interest in Family Law or Criminal Law
• Strong advocacy, communication, and client relationship skills
• Ability to manage files independently and work collaboratively within a team
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Motivated, entrepreneurial, and client-focused approach to practice
