About The Job

The Registered Nurse:

• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until June 10, 2027, or return of the incumbent.

Shift are days and nights, with shift times of 07:30 to 19:45 and 19:30 to 07:45 hours.

Kelowna is home to the new Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) at Kelowna General Hospital. The new

Regional Cardiac Revascularization Program provides residents of the British Columbia Interior with the cardiac care they need, right here in the heart of the Okanagan Valley.

The Cardiac Surgery program opened in December 2012 with 6 CSICU beds and has expanded with the opening of the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre at Kelowna General Hospital. Our department provides an exceptional professional environment for critical care nursing and our nurses have excellent clinical and communication skills, a high commitment to professionalism and commitment as team players.
