Child and Youth Worker, with some duties as a youth worker - social services. Chisholm Services for Children. Location Halifax, NS. Salary 51,835.54 annually / 40 hours per week. Full time. There is no option to work remotely. Work site environment. Child welfare. Early intervention programming for at-risk youth. Youth services. Work setting. Group home. Urban area. Work in employer's/client's home. Children's services facility. Responsibilities: Prepare reports or case histories. Administrative and office activities. Implement life skills workshops. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Supervise children's visits with parents to ensure their safety. Implement behaviour management programs. Conduct individual and group counselling sessions. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Credentials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development). Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. Cultural Awareness Training. Medication Administration Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Experience and specialization.
