Class 1 Dedicated Shunt Driver

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Dedicated Shunt Driver based in New Annan, PEI. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role

Manage time and ensure accurate and timely movement of the trailers at the Cavendish Plant.

Or Tuesday to Friday (0800-2000)

• Moving trailers within the yard safely and efficiently
• Refuel refrigerated units as required
• Perform routine checks on the reefers and conduct yard checks
• Maintain company equipment standards
• Ensure timely movement of trailers to assigned locations
• Communicate efficiently with the Supervisor
• Report any incident, accident, injury, damage immediately

• Education Required: High School or GED
• Class 1 driver’s license with a minimum of 2 years’ safe commercial driving experience required
• Clean driver’s abstract and criminal search.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
• Excellent work ethic and reliability.
• Safety conscious.
