Foreperson - Power Line Construction

You are an experience Foreperson for Powerline Construction who supports the construction, installation, and maintenance of overhead and underground powerlines in Saskatchewan. Construct, install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systemsOperate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, and trackhoesTroubleshoot and repair distribution powerlinesTransport materials used for the installation of electrical systems (overhead/underground)Read and interpret construction drawings, work plans, and schematicsTrack daily production, material usage, and support logistics and crew coordinationFollow and promote strict safety practices, adhering to all OH&S standardsTrain and support junior workers or apprentices on proper work practicesPerform additional tasks related to line construction and maintenance as requiredQualifications:
Must have valid Journeyperson Powerline Technician certificationPrevious experience leading a crew of powerline technicians5+ years of experience in powerline construction (or strong interest with technical training)Ability to climb poles using spikes and rigging and to work from bucket trucks or man-liftsStrong knowledge of distribution powerline construction methods, tools, and safety proceduresAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction documentsClass 5 driver’s license required: Class 1 or 3 preferred.Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's AbstractPhysically able to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work in varying weather conditionsStrong communication and teamwork skillsWork Conditions:
Outdoor work in diverse and sometimes extreme weatherOvertime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.Ability to work long shifts, 10-12 hour days, in all types of weatherWorking outdoors in various weather conditionsAbility to travel extensively across Saskatchewan.Travel to job sites will be required depending on project locationAdditional Information
