Job Description

Position Summary:

S&R Nursing Homes Ltd. is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director, Clinical Services and Education to provide corporate leadership in education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance across its Long‑Term Care Homes.

This role is responsible for the development, oversight, and evaluation of corporate education programs that are evidence‑based, inspection‑informed, and fully aligned with the Fixing Long‑Term Care Act, 2021 (FLTCA) and Ontario Regulation 246/22 . The successful candidate will work closely with Managers of Resident Care (MRCs), Site Education Leads, Administrators, and Corporate leadership to ensure education initiatives support resident safety, professional practice, and sustained compliance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Corporate Education Leadership

• Lead a standardized, corporate‑wide education framework across all Long‑Term Care Homes.
• Ensure education programs respond to legislative requirements, Ministry standards, inspection findings, critical incidents, and emerging best practices.
• Oversee the development, review, and approval of education content in collaboration with site‑level Education Leads.

Inspection Findings & Compliance Support

• Review and analyze Ministry inspection findings, including Written Notifications and Compliance Orders.
• Ensure education is embedded within corrective action and compliance plans where findings are identified.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of compliance‑related education and escalate unresolved risks as required.

Education Governance & Collaboration

• Work directly with Site Education Leads to review, approve, and support education plans and materials prior to delivery.
• Lead and participate in Communities of Practice (COP) with Managers of Resident Care and Education Leads at least bi‑annually.
• Provide expert consultation to Homes on education planning, delivery, and evaluation.

Quality, Risk & Evidence‑Based Practice

• Use quality indicators, critical incident data, and risk trends to guide corporate education priorities.
• Support the evaluation of education initiatives to ensure sustained practice change and measurable outcomes.
• Participate in corporate quality and risk reviews and assist Homes where performance gaps are identified.

Site Engagement

• Conduct regular on‑site visits to Long‑Term Care Homes to support education delivery, provide coaching, and validate implementation of compliance‑related education.
• Travel is a core requirement of this position.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO); BScN preferred .
• Minimum three (3) years of senior clinical leadership experience in Long‑Term Care.
• Demonstrated experience in adult education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance .
• Strong working knowledge of the Fixing Long‑Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation 246/22 .
• Experience supporting Homes through Ministry inspections and follow‑up processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and data‑driven quality improvement tools.
