Your Role

Reporting to the Executive Director and Executive Council, the Director of Infrastructure is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the Infrastructure and Special Projects Department. This includes managing programs, policies, and projects that support housing, community infrastructure, and economic development, while ensuring alignment with C/TFN governance, cultural values, and holistic service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Director of Infrastructure and Special Projects, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for a diverse portfolio of programs and initiatives that support the long-term growth and development of Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for the Infrastructure and Special projects branches.

• Leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of infrastructure, housing, and nation-building initiatives.

• Developing and implementing policies, programs, and strategies that align with C/TFN values, governance, and community priorities.

• Building and managing funding agreements, contracts, and reporting requirements to support program success.

• Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, funding agreements, organizational policies, and safety standards.

• Leading, mentoring, and supporting high-performing team while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

• Preparing strategic reports and recommendations for Executive Council and senior leadership to support informed decision-making.

Essential Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

• Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent), Construction Management, or Facilities Management certification is considered an asset

• 5+ years of senior management experience and project oversight

• Prior experience in property/infrastructure management and construction

The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader with experience in government administration, organizational development, and managing complex projects and initiatives. They possess strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop policies, manage budgets and contracts, analyze information, and make sound decisions. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while building positive relationships with Citizens, leadership, government partners, and external stakeholders. Knowledge of Carcross/Tagish First Nation governance, history, culture, and values is considered a strong asset.
