Job Description

Job Summary

The Tapered Insulation Designer/Estimator duties will include the generation of tapered designs, piece counts, & price quotes for Tapered Expanded Polystyrene Insulation projects from various media sources. The individual will advise and assist architects to help secure the specification of Expanded Polystyrene Insulation products while working with roofing contractors to consult on Tapered designs, troubleshoot onsite issues and provide general customer support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• • Interpret, Design, Estimate and communicate daily quotations on projects with Tapered Roof Insulation in the specification.
  • Work daily with Architects, General Contractors, Roofing Contractors on design and budgetary constraints.
  • Communicate with contractors on revisions to projects to close the sale.
  • Generate working shop drawings for submittals.
  • Provide onsite customer support, job startups, installation expertise and field verification where needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• • Essential Full Performance Knowledge:
    1. TaperPlus preferred, but not required
    2. AutoCAD
    3. Excel
    4. Mathematic ability
    5. Basic Roofing industry knowledge

• • Essential Full Performance Skills:
    1. Ability to read Architectural plans and drawings
    2. Verbal communication skills
    3. Customer Service skill set

    1. Oral Comprehension and Expression
    2. Written Comprehension and Expression

    4. Problem Sensitivity

Education & Experience Requirements:

• • Education:

Associate’s or Technical Degree in Drafting, Construction Design, Construction Technology, Mechanical Drafting or similar.

• • Experience:

1-2 years’ experience in a related field.

Work Environment/Time Worked:

• • Office setting with occasional travel
  • Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm
