Technical Architecture & Design
• Design comprehensive Lakehouse architectures using Databricks platform capabilities including Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog
• Develop scalable data engineering pipelines and advanced analytics solutions that meet enterprise-grade requirements
• Create technical roadmaps and migration strategies for legacy data platform modernization
• Ensure solutions align with industry best practices for data governance, security, and performance optimization
Collaboration
• Collaborate with client technical teams to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure sustainable solution adoption
• Work closely with Deloitte's broader technology and industry practices to deliver integrated client solutions
Solution Delivery & Innovation
• Drive end-to-end delivery of complex data platform implementations from conception through production deployment
• Establish CI/CD processes and DataOps practices for scalable, repeatable solution delivery
• Stay current with emerging Databricks features and industry trends to continuously enhance solution offerings
• Contribute to Deloitte's intellectual capital and accelerators for faster client value realization

About the team

We are seeking an experienced Databricks consultant to join our growing data and analytics practice at Deloitte Canada. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to work with enterprise clients across various industries, designing and implementing world-class Lakehouse architectures that transform how organizations leverage their data assets. As a Databricks consultant, you will serve as both a technical leader and trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex data modernization initiatives while leading high-performing teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications
Certifications & Experience
• Certified Databricks Data Engineer Associate (required)
• Certified Databricks Data Engineer Professional 
• 3-5 years of consulting experience in data and analytics, with demonstrated client-facing capabilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
Technical Expertise
• Deep hands-on experience with the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform, including Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or SQL for data engineering and analytics workloads
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services
• Experience with modern data architecture patterns including data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality management practices
Professional Skills
• Proven ability to lead and influence technical teams in a consulting environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences
• Strong project management capabilities with experience in agile delivery methodologies
• Demonstrated success in building client relationships and managing stakeholder expectations
Nice to have qualifications
• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field
• Experience with specific industry verticals (Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing)
• Knowledge of data science and machine learning frameworks and methodologies
• Previous experience in a consulting environment

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $102,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
