Staff Full Stack Software Engineer

Build trustworthy card experiences at Affirm as a remote Canada Staff Full Stack Software Engineer using Python, Kotlin, and React.You will shape technical strategy for the Card Experiences team at Affirm. The work spans backend systems, web and mobile experiences, and distributed architecture. You will collaborate with product, design, risk, operations, and analytics partners while applying AI thoughtfully to customer experiences.Key Responsibilities:
Set technical strategy across a year-long planning horizonOwn features from problem definition through production monitoringMaintain monitoring, playbooks, testing, alerting, and on-call practicesSet code review and design standards across engineeringDevelop talent through feedback, guidance, and exampleRequirements:
Eight or more years designing backend systems at scaleExperience with Python or Kotlin and distributed systemsExperience using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and KubernetesProficiency with React Native, React, or VueBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experienceBring full stack expertise, technical leadership, and AI-first thinking to reliable Affirm cardholder experiences across remote Canada.
