Role Summary – Data Fabric Consultant / Subject Matter Expert (SME)

BrickRed Systems is seeking a highly experienced Data Fabric Consultant / SME to lead enterprise data modernization initiatives. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, defining and implementing data fabric architectures that unify distributed data environments and enable real-time, intelligent decision-making.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and executive leadership to drive end-to-end data strategy, architecture, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on data fabric strategy, architecture, and implementation
• Design and lead enterprise-scale data fabric solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Define data integration, governance, and metadata management frameworks
• Enable data virtualization and seamless data access across disparate systems
• Drive adoption of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures
• Collaborate with business leaders to align data strategy with business outcomes
• Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder presentations
• Mentor internal teams and guide best practices in modern data engineering and architecture
• Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms across Azure, AWS, and GCP ecosystems

Required Technical Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or consulting roles
• Deep expertise in data fabric concepts, data mesh (nice-to-have), and modern data platforms
• Strong experience with Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Purview), AWS (Glue, Lake Formation), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
• Proficiency in data integration, ETL/ELT, and orchestration tools
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink)
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, cataloging, and compliance frameworks
• Solid programming skills in Python and SQL
• Familiarity with API‑led integration, microservices, and distributed systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
