OPEN TO PUBLIC-IT Technician

Reporting to the Manager, Information Management & Technology (IMT), the IT Technician provides technical support and technology services that help Kwanlin Dün First Nation staff effectively serve citizens and the community.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of computer systems, infrastructure, and technology services, while building positive working relationships through respectful, timely, and collaborative service.

Required Qualifications (what we screen/look for on your resume) : An equivalent combination of post-secondary education, combined with significant current/lived experience in the areas identified below, will equally be considered.

• A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
• Demonstrated experience supporting Windows environments and core business applications;
• Experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals;
• Relevant IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or Network+, would be a strong asset;
• Experience with M365 environment would be an asset.

Knowledge and skills (what we may assess/interview on):

• Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, user account management, software deployment, device configuration, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Demonstrated strength in diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving technical issues efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, track work, and maintain accurate documentation in a structured IT environment.
• Responsive, respectful approach when supporting users with varying technical skill levels.
• Ability to guide and support staff in adopting and using new systems, tools, and processes.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle competing requests, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain technical issues in plain language
• Works effectively within a team while also demonstrating initiative and accountability.
  

Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history within formalized education systems, residential schools and on-going intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset. Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in the role.

Conditions of Employment: Acceptable pre-employment Criminal Records Check; Valid class 5 Driver’s license, and reliable transportation.

Salary: $53,544.40 - $88,160.80 per annum ($29.42 - $48.44 per hour) Level 4 *plus benefits
