Evening Caretaker

Job Summary:
The primary role of the full-time Evening Caretaker is the cleaning and maintaining of the church building and grounds during the weekdays. Additionally, this role supports church services/events and rental space use groups that meet in the evenings. This position reports to the Property Superintendent & Head Custodian. The location of work is onsite at 70 St. Clements Avenue in Toronto.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of the church building
Set up for rental space use groups and church events
Implementing security protocols while onsite, including the opening and closing of the building and ensuring all doors are locked at the end of each day
Assisting with facilities duties for special services and at holidays, including at Christmas and Easter
Covering vacation and sick leave for other members of the facility team
Other duties as assigned from time to time by the Property Superintendent & Head Custodian
What We Offer:
Hours: This is a full-time onsite position (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday. Hours will generally be in the range of 3pm-10pm. Some flexibility in hours will be required from time to time, in case of special events or holidays.
Compensation: A base salary of $39,500 annually.

Financial Security: Employer matched registered pension plan participation (5% of gross earnings).
Work-Life Balance: Three (3) weeks’ paid vacation.

Job Requirements:
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:
Excellent cleaning skills
Ability to interact positively with staff, volunteers, and renters, often being the first point of contact with the church
Organizational skills and ability to follow-through on tasks/feedback
Capable of performing light to medium physical duties and being able to lift a load up to 50 pounds
Self-starter & ability to work independently
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
Current WHIMIS and Standard First Aid CPR/AED (C) certification an asset
