Early Childhood Assistant (ECA)

As an ECA , you will be responsible for working collaboratively with childcare staff and the Supervisor at various centres located in Durham region. Your role includes fostering a nurturing, safe environment for children from infant to school age, supporting daily activities, and maintaining high standards of care and compliance.

Working Conditions:

• Light to moderate physical activity (lifting, bending, etc.)
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.

Responsibilities:

• Create a warm, inclusive learning environment that supports child development
• Supervise children during both indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety
• Keep classrooms and shared spaces clean and organized
• Assist with meals and nap time in line with centre policies and Public Health standards
• Actively participate in play-based and learning activities with children
• Support staff and contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment
• Follow all regulations and guidelines, including CCEYA, AQI, and HDLH
• Participate in all mandatory company activities, trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check (within 6 months)
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C
• Reliable transportation within Durham region.
