The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Production Planning & Reporting Specialist to join our Technical Services team in St. John’s, NL. Relocation will be required for this role.

 

The role is a permanent position, working a Monday-Friday schedule at the St. John’s Office. 

 

As a Production Planning and Reporting Specialist, you will lead end to end cross-functional business planning to establish and ensure adherence to routines that allow operations to set and achieve budget while maintaining quality control in alignment with business goals. Your experience and skills will allow you to validate technical drivers behind forward view modeling tools and ensure uniform risk consideration. The role will collaborate with local leadership to establish and maintain monthly routines that identify deviations from budget and develop action plans to action plans to achieve budget on a finished product basis. The successful candidate should possess expert flowsheet understanding to support the Manager in optimizing global metal flow to maximize business results.

 

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead cross-functional weekly planning meetings to optimize resource utilization, highlight upcoming risks and adjust plans as required to meet long-term business goals. Review and validate Budget and Plan to determine viability and global optimization. Serve as the focal point for consolidating data.
  • Lead and participate in technical assessments and business cases on external feeds as well as trade-off analysis, including preparation of intercompany agreements and execution reviews.
  • Develop and ensure consistency among forward looking models based on technical understanding of key process drivers. Lead or participate as a system expert in process improvement projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the plants and Leadership Teams in development of the Plan (5 years) and the Budget. Identify gaps, material availabilities, impurity control, planned outages and challenge the Status Quo, aiming for continuous improvement of the process.
  • Establish and maintain monthly routines to ensure key performance indicators are being used to assess operational performance and forecasting.
  • Support local Business Planning Analysts to establish and ensure completion of action plans stemming from key performance indicator reviews. Advice on application of remedial actions to other operations to enhance sharing of best practices.
  • Act as technical authority to support development and standardization of optimization models, statistical analytics and condition prediction tools.
  • Apply advanced statistical tools for analyzing and predicting conditions, trends, risks and opportunities. Assist the operations and internal business planning team in delivering facts on performance so they can develop plans to improve. e.g. Multi-variable regression analysis

About You

Education:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree is required.
  • Process Engineering is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience in an industrial environment is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in statistical methods
  • Expertise in capacity calculation and optimization methods
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain standardization and routine management practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse cultures and organizational levels
  • Strong collaboration abilities and a track record of building productive, trust‑based relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive results in cross‑functional environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain, Mining, and Manufacturing processes
  • Ability to inspire momentum, foster engagement, and promote positive change across teams.
