Associate Director of Legal in Toronto

Oxford is seeking a motivated lawyer for the Associate Director of Legal Services role in Toronto, focusing on construction and development projects. This position works in a hybrid setup, requiring in-office collaboration four days a week. As a key member of Oxford's Canadian Legal Services team, you will oversee legal support for construction projects, managing external counsel and advising on compliance. Your expertise will enhance operational functions and foster collaboration across various internal teams. Mentor legal clerks and ensure legal alignment in business operations while championing risk management efforts. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support for construction agreements and workflows
• Offer advisory on compliance and regulatory matters
• Mentor and train junior legal staff
• Build relationships with external law firms and advisors
• Understand Oxford’s organizational approval processes

Requirements:

• 3+ years in-house or law firm experience in construction law
• Proficiency in drafting construction agreements and RFPs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Practical approach to legal risk management
• Intellectually curious and eager to learn
