Purpose

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst ensures that security controls are effectively managed and maintained in alignment with vendor guidance, CIS benchmarks, and Microsoft best practices to proactively reduce risk and support operational integrity.  

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst also provides second-level support to Cyber Security Analysts, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.  

Education & Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience working in an Information Technology environment.  
  
  
  
  
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.  
  
  
  
  
  • Experience in administering IT security controls in an organization.  
  
  
  
  
  • Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, applications, and systems.  
  
  
  
  
  • Strong understanding of adversary tactics and techniques including the MITRE ATT&CK framework.  
  
  
  
  
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or related certification.  
  
  
  
  
  • Advanced skills and/or certification in cyber security principals, ITIL Foundations, and COBIT Governance.  
  
  
  
  
  • Advanced skills and/or certification Microsoft Enterprise systems.  
  
  
  
  
  • In depth knowledge of M365 Security, Microsoft Azure Security, Windows Enterprise environments, Windows operating systems.  
  
  
  
  
  • Strong blue team skills including system security, system auditing, threat intelligence, incident handling and detection.

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting Innovation Federal Credit Union’s information assets, systems, and digital services. This role leads the monitoring, assessment, and enhancement of cybersecurity controls, ensuring the organization maintains a strong security posture in an evolving threat landscape.

Working closely with technology teams, business partners, vendors, and leadership, the Senior Cyber Security Analyst identifies and mitigates cyber risks, supports incident response and recovery activities, and provides expert guidance on security best practices, compliance requirements, and emerging threats. Through proactive security monitoring, threat analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, this role helps ensure Innovation’s technology environment remains secure, resilient, and trusted—supporting our digital strategy and our commitment to simplifying banking for all Canadians.
