URGENT: Elder Care Provider Wanted - Seeking Compassionate Elder Care Provider In Vaughan, Ontario

Our client, a leading specialty food retailer, is seeking a Retail Accountant to join its Retail Finance team on a

contract basis through January, 2027.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role provides accounting, financial reporting, and operational support for the retail business while partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders across Finance and Retail Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post month‑end journal entries, including expense accruals, credit card statements, and intercompany charge‑outs.

Support the monthly close process, including general ledger review and financial reporting.

Retail Operations Support (40%)

Reconcile daily sales, cash, gift card, and coupon activity, along with weekly cash logs.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies with Store Managers and Regional Managers.

Provide financial support to retail stores regarding cash reconciliation, merchant services, banking, and gift card processes.

Qualifications

1–3 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a retail environment.

Experience with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and retail internal controls.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
