JOB OVERVIEW Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of SMR Authorization Training Supervisor. Reporting to the Sr Manager Ops Training, this position is responsible for leading the SMR training programs, which include designing, developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive training courses. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Coordinate and manage SMR-training programs for certified and non-certified staff, ensuring effective delivery and support for trainers.
- Lead the development and maintenance of training documentation and enhance SMR knowledge among all stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and evaluate comprehensive training courses, including CNSC-specific training, and collaborate with managers and specialists.
- Deliver training materials and lectures, operate simulators, and conduct evaluations for both licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Schedule and adjust training sessions, handle administrative tasks, and assess staff performance, recommending remedial training as needed.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and internal/external groups, representing candidates in examination disputes and providing feedback.
- Implement training program enhancements using new technologies, and advise temporary instructors on teaching techniques.
- Maintain a safe training environment, ensure compliance with standards, monitor plant changes, and participate in procedure development and simulator evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS - This role involves holding a current/previous certification / license at a Nuclear Power plant and will involve having a working knowledge of a BWR power plant
- Previously Certified by a regulator to operate a Nuclear Power Plant
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
- The ability to deliver and assess training and lead simulations
- Previous experience as a Senior Reactor Operator or Reactor Operator is an asset

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
